A Heart Enlarged with Gratitude

This month, the month of giving thanks, I want to share something a little different: a glimpse into what the Lord has been doing in my life and heart. It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day of leading and creating, but lately I’ve been overwhelmed by a deeper sense of gratitude for the people He’s brought into my life, the opportunities to serve, and the ways He continues to stretch and grow me.

As I slow down for a moment in this busy season, my heart just feels full. The Lord has been doing something so beautiful lately. He’s connected me with people, ministries, and opportunities that remind me of His goodness and perfect timing.

Recently, we began working with two new ministries, and it’s been such a blessing. Their heart for serving others and meeting people right where they’re at has stirred something new in me. It feels like confirmation that Voom Creative is being positioned to serve in the ways God always intended—to use our gifts and talents to minister to the needs of others.

Over the past few months, I’ve met so many incredible people who love the Lord and are using their businesses to bless others. These connections have felt so intentional, like divine appointments that only He could orchestrate. Each conversation seems to expand my heart a little more, enlarging my capacity for gratitude, faith, and vision.

Outside of the office, my family and I have decided to participate in a mission trip to Kenya in February. We’ll be spending two weeks ministering to orphans and widows, something completely new for us and a little outside our comfort zone. I’m both excited and humbled to see how God will use this experience to change us and, hopefully, to bless those we meet along the way.

Through all of this, the Lord has also been teaching me something about how we give and receive.

I recently read a passage in John C. Maxwell’s High Road Leadership that really spoke to my heart. He shares how people with a scarcity mindset tend to hold tightly to what they have, one hand gripping what they’re afraid to lose while the other is stretched out, waiting to receive. High road leaders, on the other hand, give from a place of abundance and service. They live with both hands open—free to give and free to receive.

That image has stayed with me. I want to live and lead with open hands: to give generously, serve joyfully, and trust that as I pour out, He will continue to fill me up with purpose, people, and peace.

I’m so thankful for the people He’s placed in my path: the clients who trust us, the ministries who inspire us, and the friends who pray alongside me. My heart is enlarged. My hands are open. And my prayer is that all would be done to God’s glory. He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

“I will give thanks to You, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonderful deeds.”
